A road trip to the Peak District

Group of five people sitting on a rocky ledge in the Peak District, laughing and enjoying the scenic view with blue skies and greenery in the background.

So there we are, sitting on the top of the “peak” in the Peak District (Black Rock if we’re being official) completely mesmerised by the view. This whole trip came together because Sarah, my newish flatmate, and a couple of our friends suggested we make the four hour drive to visit their old college friend who lives nearby. One of those spontaneous ideas that somehow turns into a full weekend away. And honestly, what a weekend. We took so many photos that the final count must be edging towards 500 or even 600, so choosing just a few favourites for this post was almost impossible. But here they are, the best of the best!

A person standing atop Black Rock in the Peak District, stretching their arms open wide while smiling, with a scenic view of green hills and a cloudy sky in the background.
A wooden gate leading into a lush green field with sheep grazing, surrounded by trees and hills in the Peak District.
A group of sheep resting under a tree in a grassy field, with some standing and others lying down.

And guess what! While we were there we even “casually” visited Mr Darcy’s home (Jane Austen “Pride and Pejudice”).

A ceiling mural featuring mythological scenes with numerous figures, including gods and angels, intricately painted in vibrant colors.
A clothing rack with various garments hanging, set in a room with floral curtains and a large window in the background.
A wooden bookshelf filled with numerous books, including titles related to English heritage, landmarks, and literature, reflecting a collection of cultural and historical interests.
A hand-painted illustration of three stalks of flowering plants with yellow buds and green leaves against a textured background.
Close-up of a Steinway piano with visible sheet music on the stand, showcasing musical notes.
A colorful illustration of a pomegranate with green leaves attached, displaying a round fruit with a gradient of colors.
View through a window showcasing a greenhouse filled with potted plants and vines.

I so recommend to visit Peak District if you have not done that yet.
Have a lovely week!
Rasa 🙂
