I made these little ribbon flower brooches to accessorise our wedding outfits. I must admit, I’m still not entirely sure how they’ll end up being used. Pinned onto lapels? Added to a sash? Attached to a hairband? Honestly… your guess is as good as mine.
What I do know is that they’ve been such a fun, no-pressure project. A bit of dyeing to get that ombre ribbon (my favourite part), a bit of folding, a bit of stitching, and suddenly you’ve got these cheerful little flowers that can liven up pretty much any outfit. They’re also a lovely way to use up those odd ribbon pieces that are too nice to throw away.
Read on for the full instructions, including how I dyed the ribbon, how I shaped the petals, and the simple hand-stitching that holds it all together. No hot glue, no fancy tools. Just a needle, thread, and a quiet moment at the table.
Enjoy your weekend 🙂
