Recently I have been busy making this spring/dress that I fell in love with almost instantly! It’s perfect for my walks around the Lea valley park. Can be worn with cardigan when it is chilly and accessorised as you wish.

This dress is so easy to make and is shaped with the ties. Suitable for many types of figure! Read on to see how to get started and make your own ;-).

To start with cut out the pattern pieces

Stitch tie straps

Pin the side seams together

Stitch the side & shoulder seam (5mm seam allowance)

Invert the dress inside out.

Stitch again on the side & shoulder seams (5mm allowance)

These stitches together create a french seam.

Prepare facing binding for neckline and armholes.

Pin the facing binding to the neckline and armholes.

Stitch the facing (1cm allowance) and trim the edges.

Apply facing binding.

Attach the armhole facing the same way as the neckline facing.

Finish hem edge

Enjoy your long weekend 🙂
